Often a programmer familiar with server-side programming in PHP or ASP will need to expand the server code we provide. Sometimes, a programmer familiar with web programming in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML will be needed to expand the client-side programming. In this case, two different programmers may be involved with all the attendant headache that provides.

Here are our thoughts on some trade-offs (listed in alphabetic order) encountered in many projects:

• Completion time   We are conservative in estimating when we will finish and fanatical about meeting our promises. We will generally walk away from "must have it yesterday" projects because they are guaranteed to disappoint before work even starts.

• Honesty   We will level with you at all times. Our name and contact information is on every page of our web site. We stand behind everything we do.

• Low project cost   We have headquarters in the unofficial capital of Silicon Valley. We cannot compete on cost with every outsourced programmer in the world: our consulting rate is $125/hour. Even by Silicon Valley standards, we are technically astute, having 7 patents to our credit. We can compete worldwide in our business sense and ability to head off "unexpected" problems.

• Presentation elegance   We are engineers and build solid products. We can engage and manage artists or work with yours but we are not artists ourselves.
